Webhooks versus polling for message events

DevelopersJul 30, 20266 min read

Why event-driven integrations are cheaper, faster and easier to reason about.

Polling asks “has anything changed?” on a timer. Webhooks tell you the moment something does. For message events, which are frequent and time-sensitive, webhooks win.

Each MsgDrip webhook is signed, retried with backoff, and carries an idempotency key so your handler can safely process an event twice.

Start by subscribing to delivered and replied. Those two events power most of the useful automations downstream.
